  • Do you have identified staff to child ratios?
  • Do you have specific educational goals and guide lines for activities?

  • Does your staff meet specific educational qualifications and guidelines?
  • Do you do criminal background checks on ALL your staff and volunteers?
  • Do you meet State safety standards?

The YMCA is the largest non-profit provider of child care in the United States. The Metro YMCAs offer child care programs from infant to after-school. 

We offer:

     at Peanut Shell Child Care Center:

Infants: Full Week (6 weeks – 12 months)

Waddlers: Full /Part Week (1 – 2 yrs)

Toddlers: Full/Part Week (2 – 3 yrs)

Pre-School: Full/Part Week (3 – 5 yrs)

     at Weekday Nursery and Child Care Center:

Nursery School (2 1/2-5 yrs) – a 3 hour program available mornings or afternoons two to five times a week

Nursery Plus (2 1/2-5 yrs) – for parents who wish to extend their child’s day with lunch and further play, until 1:00pm

Child Care  (2 1/2-5 yrs)– open from 7:30am to 6:00pm

      Extended Day Program

The West Essex YMCA offers a variety of options for working parents to accommodate the needs of their children. Extended Day Programs serving Livingston, Caldwell, West Caldwell, West Orange, and Roseland.
