West Essex YMCA's School Age Child Care Programs offer peace of mind to working parents by providing programs on site at your child's school in Livingston, West Orange, Caldwell, West Caldwell and Roseland.Programs are provided for children in Grades K - 5th grade. A Middle School program for 6th Graders is available at the Mount Pleasant Middle School in Livingston.

•No need to worry about transportation - After School Care begins at school dismissal (including scheduled half days) until 6:00pm. Before School Care* begins at 7:15am in the Caldwell and West Caldwell Schools, and at 7:30am until school begins at the West Orange Schools.
• Need a flexible schedule? Choose between 2-5 days a week.
• Great staff! Staff model and teach the YMCA core values: Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Honesty, and incorporate them into all activities.
• It's affordable! Tuition is paid monthly and is based on your weekly schedule. Discounts are also available for siblings.
• It's fun! Children participate in arts and crafts, gym activities, special events and games. Children enjoy daily CATCH physical activity games as part of our curriculum and a healthy snack. Homework time and help is provided, so there is one less thing to worry about when you get home from work.
• It's safe! All of our School Age Child Care sites are licensed by the State of New Jersey's Department of Children and Families, meeting and exceeding their standards. Our staff all receive on-going training throughout the year, and each site has a staff member certified in CPR and First Aid.
We offer Holiday, Snow Day and Vacation Programs at the West Essex YMCA in Livingston, for an additional fee. All trips and snacks are included in the fee. Pre- registration required.

Kindergarten Enrichment Program

The West Essex YMCA offers a Kindergarten Enrichment Program for Kindergartners in the Caldwell Schools to complement the half day programs offered by the school district. The Kindergarten Enrichment Program takes place at the Harrison School. A variety of options are available depending on whether your child is signed up for AM or PM Kindergarten at Wilson, Washington, Lincoln or Jefferson School. Your child's Kindergarten curriculum will be enriched by our program with coordinated lessons, crafts, gym games, outdoor play and special activities. Children have an opportunity to enhance social skills, increase vocabulary and interact with our nurturing staff.
• Transportation between programs is provided by a private school bus company. Children are escorted to/from their classrooms to the bus by a YMCA staff member. A Bus Aide supervises the children during transportation to ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times.
• Your child may also attend the Before School Program* as early as 7:30am and continue with the After school Program until 6:00pm.
• An afternoon snack is provided.

How to Register:
Pre-registration is required for all Before and After School Programs. Please complete the Registration form and return to the West Essex YMCA with payment. Additional Parent Pack Paperwork is also required before your child can start in our programs.
