Birthday Parties

Let the West Essex YMCA host your next Birthday Party. We have parties for children ages 2-14 with lots of exciting and fun activities, all appropriate for each age level. Our Birthday Parties are very popular, so book in advance! Credit Card number is necessary to hold the party date.

Birthday Party at Peanut Shell Child Care Center

Fantastic Birthday Parties at Peanut Shell for children ages 2-5. Two Peanut Shell staff members will be assisting you with all activities. Parties last 90 minutes. We supply tables, arts and crafts, pizza (one slice per child), juice (one box per child), paper goods, and personalized invitations*. Your party can have up to 15 children including the birthday person and siblings. We will provide food, drinks, and paper goods for up to 15 guests only. You are welcome to bring in additional snacks or paper products. For more information call (973) 533-1511.

Party Times: Saturday 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Activities: Arts & Crafts, painting, play dough, story time, musical chairs, parachute fun, indoor gym, jewelry beading, hair-nails & make-up, face painting, sand art, music fun with Mr. Dave*.

Party Times: Sunday 3:15-5:15pm

Pool Birthday Party
A pool party is a great way to have fun with your children. Parties start at age 6 and are held on Sundays. Pool Party includes one hour free swim and one hour in the party room. Two certified lifeguards will be on deck. All children are swim tested to make sure they are in the appropriate water level.

Gym Birthday Party
YMCA coaches will prepare an energetic, exciting program guaranteed to make your child’s birthday event the most talked about for a long time. Parties start at age 4 and are held on Sundays. Parties include an hour of planned activities of your choice (parachute, games, and/or specific sports) and one hour of party room.

Your Pool or Gym Party can have up to 25 children including the birthday person and siblings. Birthday cake, food, decorations and paper goods should be provided by a parent. We provide tables and chairs for you and your guests. For more information call (973) 992.7500.

Cooking and Craft Parties: Boys and Girls ages 4-10 will have a day to remember at the YMCA! Guests will enjoy an hour of a cooking or craft activity. All supplies are provided and activities are run by our staff. The remaining time will be spent in the party room for food and cake (provided by parent).

Birthday Party Teens

Party Times: Sunday 5:45-7:45 PM

Teen birthday parties are about much more than just getting presents and eating cake (although those are still the highlights!). Pick one of our three famous birthday party themes listed below. The parties are designed for children ages 11-14 and held on Sundays. Parties include an hour of planned activities of your choice and one hour of party room. You can have up to 25 party guests including the birthday person and siblings. Birthday cake, food, decorations and paper goods should be provided by a parent. Self-Defense Party
Combine self defense training with a party, and you have teens having fun while learning vital skills that could protect them from danger. Self defense parties are in. All your teen needs to know about self defense will be taught by our karate instructor.
Dodgeball Party
Gear up for an exciting game of Dodgeball! Guests will be divided equally into teams.
In the game players attempt to eliminate members of opposing team by tagging them with the ball (dodge ball is soft and safe for body contact). Play continues until one team is eliminated. Rules are very simple and easy to follow.
